Plates for Nikon Z7, Z6, Z5, Z7II, and Z6II

The Really Right Stuff BZ7 base plate is CNC machined from solid 6061-T6 aluminum to precisely fit the Nikon Z7, Z6, Z5, Z7II, and Z6II camera bodies. Utilizing the camera's own shape, and proprietary hardware that threads into its 1/4"-20 socket, the BZ7 plate sits rigid, square, and motionless once installed. Having a standard 1.5" wide RRS dovetail railing machined in, it will consistently lock into any RRS quick-release clamp or compatible Arca-Swiss clamp.

Importantly, the BZ7 can be used as normal with the Nikon FTZ adapter.*Other features include an integrated anchor for installing a conventional camera strap straight onto the plate. It also has a QD (Quick Detach) socket for quickly installing QD-type camera straps. The shape of the plate allows for full access to the battery door while enhancing the ergonomics and safety of the Z7/Z6/Z5/Z7II/Z6II body's grip.

The BZ7 plate is the premier solution for mounting the Z7/Z6/Z5/Z7II/Z6II camera to a tripod. Being part of a modular set, it also accepts a custom, CNC machined L-shaped component, turning it into a full featured L-Plate with both horizontal and vertical RRS dovetail rails. As combined, RRS BZ7-L Set has the unique benefit of allowing photographers to quickly switch from landscape to portrait orientations without having to recompose their image. It features a second QD socket, integrated hex key, and full access to the left side port doors of the camera. The upright is shaped to allow the doors to fully swing out of the way. Finally, the L-Component can be slid up to 1.25" away from the left hand side of the camera, in order to accommodate full cable tethering while shooting in portrait orientation.

Optionally, we offer a one-piece L-Plate, the RRS BZ7-UL. For those who can go without the many features listed above and instead focus on simplicity and weight, without compromising strength, rigidity, fit, and finish.

Note: L-Plates may not accommodate every size and shape of USB, HDMI, MIC, or 3rd party cable release plug on the market
*To install or uninstall the Nikon FTZ from the bayonet, the camera and plate must not be locked into a clamp. Once installed, the camera, FTZ, and plate all lock into and out of clamps as normal.

Absolutely amazing quality and functionality. The best I ever had in my hands. Not cheap but worth every penny. In addition lightning fast delivery (Arrived after two days in Switzerland).

Good design, crappy realization

The design is very good. But within the first year, both magnets came off one after the other. Considering the sheer price of this plate, this is just unacceptable. RRS and the reseller were no help, had to fix it myself even though it was under warranty. I'm happy with my other RRS gear, that this experience makes me seriously question their current QA standards. I wouldn't buy it again: I buy RRS for the build quality, and here it's not present. I'd go for something a quarter of the price.
