SONY A7IV MODULAR PLATES

The Really Right Stuff BA7IV camera body plate is custom designed for the most secure fit as possible on the Sony Alpha-7IV. Each plate is precision machined from solid blocks of 6061-T6, aircraft grade aluminum.

The Sony A7IV camera plate is fully compatible with any standard 1.5"-dovetail style quick-release system. The plate also has contoured anti-twist flanges for a perfect fit, which prevents twisting between the cameras and plate. The BA7IV quick-release plates utilize a custom machined 1/4"-20 threaded, captive-style mounting screw that threads into the tripod mounting socket of your camera body. 

As part of a modular system, the BA7IV plate still functions as a traditional camera mounting plate, but also has the added flexibility of accepting a separate dedicated vertical L-Component to create a fully modular L-Plate with two dovetail mounting surfaces. 

The L-Component incorporates a fore-aft shifting feature, which allows the user the choice of prioritizing greater port access, or a greater range of LCD screen articulation.

In order to properly mount the L-component, ensure the TOP of the L-component makes contact with the camera body; a small gap at the bottom between the L-component and baseplate is normal and by design, and does not compromise rigidity of the assembled L-Set.
If the L-component is forced tight so that the bottom of the L-component touches the baseplate, it will result in a slight angle, rather than a proper right angle to the baseplate.
