ABOUTSapna Reddy is an internationally recognized landscape photographer based in Northern California. She is currently pursuing dual careers as a photographer and a physician.
As a radiologist she studies images in an attempt to establish diagnosis and cure the human body. As a photographer she aspires to generate images that celebrate the beauty of nature and provide visual therapy for the mind. At present she divides her time equally between both careers. Having completed her medical training with a Pediatric Radiology specialization from Stanford she started working as a radiologist in California. Being an avid nature lover she found herself spending her free moments hiking and exploring from a very early age.
Initially she photographed to document her adventures in nature. Gradually over time the photography became a channel for self expression. Being able to share the therapeutic effect of nature by displaying images in a medical setting to create an ambiance of healing gave purpose to her photography.
Her work has been published internationally and featured on National Geographic, Lonely Planet, Adobe, Sony, and Flickr platforms. In addition to incorporation into multiple medical centers in Northern California, her images have also been used for video conferencing needs by corporations including Google, Gap, Hitachi, Yahoo etc.
Sapna is passionate about teaching photography and conducts workshops focused on creative expression via the medium of photography. The small group workshops are conducted with nature first principles in mind and with minimal impact to the environment. The hands-on learning experience is targeted to identifying individual style and fine-tuning creative vision.
She is a contributor for multiple magazines including Outdoor Photographer and On Landscape. She has also been a guest speaker for Adobe, B&H, Outsider’s photography conference and multiple camera clubs.
