The Safari-Clamp is extremely rugged and highly versatile. Intended to secure heavy gear to the vertical or horizontal hand rail in a safari vehicle, the Safari-Clamp will just as easily grasp non-uniform supports like branches, posts, and table tops from 1.125" to 3.5" (28mm-89mm) diameters.
The Safari Rig was built with versatility in mind. The rig can be set up in many different configurations, allowing the photographer to adjust to a variety of space limiting conditions.
This is one of the strongest clamps on the market relative to it's size and can crush thin-walled tubes if over-tightened. We recommend you exercise caution when clamping on to materials other than metal.

What else do I need?
The Safari Clamp can be used either with other components of the Safari Rig or by itself as a mount for your camera.
When using as a component of the Safari Rig we recommend at least the following:
Safari Ball Clamp
RRS MH-34 Monopod
Head of choice
When using as a camera mount we recommend the following:
A head (BH-30 LR, BH-25 LR or a Safari Ball Clamp with a Quick Release Clamp mounted)
If you intend to mount a head other than the Safari Ball Clamp, you will need a 3/8"-16 stud, at least 3/4" in length
