The TVC-24L is our extra-tall Versa Series 2 tripod.
Versa Series 2 Tripods are smaller and lighter than our Series 3 ‘pods, and perfectly complement our BH-40 ballhead. They offer the
benefits of both a compact traveler and a Versa-style tripod, all in one. Every structural and technological innovation found in the original
TVC-33 has been carried over, including our “big and thin" carbon fiber tubes and SureGrip™ apex lock system.
Versa Series 2 tripods are the perfect choice for mid-sized gear combos. Common mid-sized gear includes most DSLR cameras and
70-200mm/f2.8 & 300mm/f4 telephotos. Given its high load capacity, a Versa Series 2 tripod is also a great solution for
shooters who need maximum support but want to keep their tripod as portable as possible. Our unique accessories further expand the
utility of these tripods. Add a quick-column for more height, or use a leveling base for instant leveling. Optionally, add the leveling base
to the quick-column and give your tripod an adjustable height leveling base! No other tripod in the world offers this versatility.
We value each of these with equal importance. In designing the Really Right Stuff Versa Tripod, our goal was to create an intuitive, almost second nature usability, allowing you to focus on your passion, not your gear. This tripod will always perform, always hold sure, and always be Really Right.

THE DRIVE TO BUILD THE BEST
By Joe Johnson,
"A while back, I got an itch to design a tripod that would marry the Really Right Stuff ideal of soul-satisfying feel and finish with best-in-class strength and resilience. Three years, thousands of design hours, numerous prototypes and weeks of field-testing later, I'm confident we succeeded. Driven to produce the best possible still-photography tripod money can buy, we committed that all features, materials, fit and finish meet and exceed the best in the world. The result is not a mass-produced item available at any corner shop. We painstakingly machine most components and assemble each tripod by hand right here in San Luis Obispo, California. What we don't produce ourselves is all made in the United States-down to the smallest screw. This flies in the face of the age of outsourced production to low-cost countries, but it allows us total and direct control of the end product. admittedly the price may be out of reach for many, but the best tools are worth the investment if it raises your level of art and enjoyment of use. We hope you agree there is no finer camera support gear at any price. We proudly introduce the first of a line of premium carbon-fiber tripods and accessories that meet the Really Right Stuff design and quality standards."
Patented SureGrip Apex Lock System: Allows quick and absolutely secure change-out from a simple platform to a Versa Quick Column or Series 3 Leveling Base.
Big & Thin carbon fiber legs: With a large outer diameter and wall thickness of only 0.04", our carbon fiber tubes far surpass the competition in strength-to-weight ratio.
Offset Leg Joints: Tripods must occasionally withstand tremendous bending and torsion loads. It is crucial that the leg angle stops and all other structural joints are well supported. Our patented offset leg joints fully support the leg angle stops allowing loads to be transferred straight through the strongest members of the tripod. This also means the tripod is more compact when collapsed.
Ratcheting Angle Stops: just pull out the stop, raise the leg, and the stop will automatically engage into place beginning at the highest setting. Pulling the legs back down will ratchet the stop into place at each angle. This keeps your fingers safe from pinching and assures the best support.
Rubber Ball Feet: Large diameter teardrop shape keeps leg sidewalls from touching the ground even at the lowest settings and makes positive contact with the ground at virtually any angle.
CNC Machining: Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) milling machines precisely sculpt parts out of solid metal affording excellent control in the design, fit and finish of every metal part found on an RRS tripod. Other tripod manufacturers employ mold casting to mass produce metal parts, resulting in lower strength/quality pieces.
Anodizing vs Powder Coating: Anodizing produces surface protection embedded into the metal, yielding superior wear and corrosion resistance versus a superficial coating.
High-visibility bulls-eye spirit level embedded in the apex for accurate leveling.
Twist Grip Leg Extension Locks: Textured semi-hard rubber allows for easy adjustments and strong grip. Anti-twist leg sections mean each twist lock can be operated independently.
